Postdoctoral Researcher


Product Development Engineer

A postdoctoral researcher position is available in Vision R&D division of NanoScope Technologies, LLC to join our expert team having 100+Yrs of experience in clinical and biomedical research. Nanoscope team is developing enabling technologies for genetic and optical modulation therapy in order to restore vision in patients with photodegenerative diseases including retinitis Pigmentosa and dry age-related macular degeneration. Our labs are equipped with state-of-art imaging systems including Discovery, Confocal fluorescence and Holographic imaging microscopes. We have an outstanding record of NIH funding and extensive network of reputed national and international collaborating institutions. Essential qualification: The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline. The project specifically requires automation of laser microirradiation and computational modeling of laser microirradiation induced thermal and mechanical impact on cells and tissues of eye. Proficiency in Matlab, AutoCAD, Finite element Analysis, C++, Python and LabView programming is required.

The candidate will be responsible for instrumentation, software development, integration, quality test/control, and analytical method validation or verification activities. The selected candidate will have excellent opportunities to interact with experts in Optogenetics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, and Clinical/preclinical research for multidisciplinary training. The candidate will have opportunity to also work in our highly rated animal facilities that include behavioral and electrophysiological instruments.

Scientists are required to coordinate our ongoing biochemical/biophysical/(pre)clinical studies. (S)he will coordinate with Nanoscope IBC, IACUC, IRB and regulatory bodies in different national and international environments. Strong knowledge in document control for experimental data, preparation of protocols, journal articles, patents and grants are required. The candidate should have doctoral degree (Ph. D.) in Biological Sciences/Biophysics/Biochemistry/Physics/Bioengineering with experience in conducting biomolecular/cellular/animal studies.

In order to expedite the product development process, candidates with strong technical background are required to carry out prototype development and manufacturing of biomedical devices/methods. (S)he will be responsible for instrumentation, software development, integration, quality test/control, and analytical method validation or verification activities. The engineer will actively carry out preparation of product sheet, user manual and trouble-shooting at lab/clinical sites. Further, his/her responsibilities include generation, maintenance and review of product development documents, batch records, and scale up activities. The candidate should be a well qualified engineer with MS/PhD degree and proven experience in technology/product development.
